Rent 365 keeps your rental records on your phone. The developer has no server and cannot see your data. Information only leaves your device for ads on the free plan, measuring app installs from ads, subscription purchases, notifications, and backups you choose to make.
About this policy
This policy explains what information the Rent 365 Android app handles, why, and the choices you have. Rent 365 is developed and published by Niranjan V ("I", "me", "the developer"). By using Rent 365 you agree to this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
Information stored on your phone
Everything you enter in Rent 365 is saved in a local database on your phone. There is no account to create, and the developer cannot see, access or recover this data. It includes:
- Property details: names, addresses, type, rent, deposit, units, meter rates and notes
- Tenant details you enter: names, phone numbers, units, rent, due dates, deposits, lease dates, balances, rent increase schedules and notes
- Rent payments, receipts, invoices, late fees and payment modes
- Expenses, repairs, cost splits, meter readings and extra charges on bills
- Move-out settlements and details you type into rent agreements
- Your settings: owner name, phone and address (used on receipts, agreements and posters), theme, reminders and Pro status
Tenant information is entered by you, the property owner. You are responsible for having your tenants' permission to record their details and for keeping your phone secure.
Advertising
The free plan shows ads from Google AdMob. Pro subscribers see no ads, and no ad requests are made for them. Your rental records are never shared with AdMob or any advertiser.
To show and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:
- Device identifiers, such as the Android Advertising ID
- IP address and approximate location derived from it
- Device and app information, such as model, Android version and app version
- Ad interactions, such as views and taps, and diagnostic data
Google uses this data as described in the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
Consent. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), the app shows Google's consent form before requesting ads. You can change your choice in More › Ad privacy choices.
Your controls. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's settings under Google › Ads or Settings › Privacy › Ads, depending on your device.
Install measurement (Meta)
Rent 365 is advertised on Facebook and Instagram. To measure which ads lead to installs, the app includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK. It sends Meta app events such as the app being installed and opened, and, if you upgrade, that a Pro subscription or free trial started, with the plan and price. It may also collect your device's Advertising ID, device and app information, and IP address. No rental records, tenant details or other information you enter in the app are sent to Meta. You don't need a Facebook account, and the app does not use Facebook login.
Meta uses this data as described in the Meta Privacy Policy. You can limit ad tracking by resetting or deleting your Advertising ID in your phone's settings, and manage how Meta uses activity from other apps in your Facebook or Instagram settings under Your activity off Meta technologies.
Subscriptions
Rent 365 Pro (monthly or yearly) is sold through Google Play Billing. Google handles your payment, and the developer never receives your card, UPI or bank details. The app only receives a purchase confirmation from Google Play to unlock Pro, and saves your Pro status on your phone. Google Play may share order information with the developer, such as an order ID, country and amount, as described in the Google Play Terms of Service.
You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in Google Play › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions.
Notifications
Reminders about overdue rent, upcoming dues, invoices and rent increases are created on your phone and need no internet connection.
Offers and updates are sent with Firebase Cloud Messaging. When this is on, Firebase creates a device token and records which topics your device follows (all users, free users or Pro users). No rental records are shared. You can turn this off in More › Offers & updates, or turn off notifications for Rent 365 in your phone's settings.
Google Drive backup
If you choose to connect Google Drive, Rent 365 saves backup copies of your app data to a hidden app folder in your own Google Drive. Only Rent 365 can open this folder; the developer cannot see it. The app asks only for access to its own app folder, not to your other Drive files.
- Backups are made when you tap Back up now or, for Pro users who turn it on, automatically.
- Up to five recent backups are kept; older ones are deleted.
- You can stop backups by tapping Disconnect in the app, remove Rent 365's access in your Google Account (Security › Third-party apps), or delete the hidden data in Google Drive (Settings › Manage apps).
Files, sharing and permissions
- Backup files and exports (backup, spreadsheet, PDF receipts, invoices, settlements, agreements and To-let posters) are created only when you ask, and saved or shared where you choose. Anyone with a backup file can read its contents, so store it safely.
- Android device backup: if backup is on in your phone's settings, Android may copy app data to your Google account, as handled by Google.
- Calls, messages and WhatsApp: tapping Call, Message or a WhatsApp button opens that app; nothing is sent until you send it there.
- App lock: your PIN is stored only on your phone as a salted hash, never as the PIN itself. Fingerprint or face unlock is handled by Android; the app never receives your biometric data.
| Permission | Why it's used |
|---|---|
| Internet and network state | Ads, subscriptions, notifications and Google Drive backup; checking the free plan is online |
| Notifications | Rent reminders, invoice reminders, and offers and updates (each can be turned off) |
| Biometric (fingerprint or face) | Optional app lock |
| Advertising ID (added by the AdMob and Meta SDKs) | Showing ads on the free plan and measuring installs from Facebook and Instagram ads |
| Billing (added by Google Play Billing) | Buying and checking the Pro subscription |
The app does not access your contacts, camera, microphone, photos or precise location.
Third-party services
The developer does not sell or rent your personal information. Only these services receive data from the app, under their own policies:
| Service | Used for |
|---|---|
| Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform | Ads on the free plan and the ad consent form |
| Google Play Billing | Pro subscriptions |
| Firebase Cloud Messaging | Offers and updates notifications |
| Google Drive API | Backups you choose to save in your own Drive |
| Google Play In-App Review | Showing Google's rating prompt |
| Meta (Facebook) SDK | Measuring installs and subscriptions from Facebook and Instagram ads |
See the Google Privacy Policy, the Firebase privacy information and the Meta Privacy Policy.
Security and retention
Your records stay in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Use a screen lock or Rent 365's app lock, and keep backup files private. Data stays on your phone until you delete it, clear the app's data or uninstall the app. Backups in your Google Drive stay until you or the app delete them. Data collected by Google is kept according to Google's policies.
Children
Rent 365 is a tool for property owners and is not directed at children under 13, or the minimum age in your country. The developer does not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, please get in touch.
Your rights and deleting data
Depending on where you live (for example under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the EU or UK GDPR, or US state laws), you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data. Because your records are stored on your phone, you can view, edit and delete them in the app at any time. To delete everything:
- Delete records in the app, or clear all data in Settings › Apps › Rent 365 › Storage › Clear data, or uninstall the app.
- Delete any backup or export files you saved elsewhere.
- Remove Google Drive backups in Google Drive › Settings › Manage apps › Rent 365.
- For data held by Google for ads, use your device's ad settings or Google's privacy controls. For data held by Meta, use your Facebook or Instagram privacy settings.
Changes and contact
I may update this policy when the app changes. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and important changes will be noted in the app or its Play Store listing.
For questions or requests about your privacy, contact Niranjan V, developer of Rent 365, at niranjanvevo@gmail.com. I aim to reply within 30 days.
